In footwear file, HIMAX is the first manufacturer in the domestic footwear industry to design and implement an intelligent manufacturing system. This design is our intellectual property, and what it does is manufacture footwear on an automated platform where robots perform cold gel construction. The system has been put into commercial operation since September 2017. Compared with traditional manual operations, the production of automated robotic production lines will raise quality standards and reduce the risk of human error in production.
The smart manufacturing system mentioned above is a good example of how innovative thinking can provide performance and quality while reducing costs.

Automated shoemaking is not new. It has been used for many years when injecting the outsole directly into the durable upper. Almost 100% of the outsoles of brands such as Ecco and Lowa are injected. There are advantages and disadvantages to the injection outsole.
When bonding the outsole to a durable upper, the shoe becomes naturally more stable, without increasing the stable insertion. However, normal cementing production processes require many workers to participate in production. With the intelligent manufacturing system we are implementing, we are the first manufacturing plant in China to use a robotic automation platform for cold-set construction methods on sports, outdoor and safety shoes. We will definitely play a leading role in this new manufacturing technology in China.
